Welcome ladies and gentlemen, I’m Steve Potter owner of the Rocket Banner Company and I prepared this brief tutorial to show you how to create a Birthday Banner right on our website using one of our design templates, so let’s get started. Now then, I’m on the home page and I’m signed into my account, from here I’m simply going to click on “price and order”. And that’s going to take us to our first products page for the 2 x 4 banner, but don’t concern yourself with that that’s not what’s important at this point. I want you to notice this link, “Browse Templates”. Click on that and it’s going to open up our templates page and from there if you’ll just scroll down to Birthday Banners and then click on the birthday Banner image to open up that template in our online design tool. We have 10 templates. Keep in mind any template is completely editable so when you’re making your choice of which template to load don’t concentrate on the text or images, because as I say these templates are completely editable. You can delete individual items, you can add images to these templates, you can modify text, etc. What’s important at this point is to choose a design based on its color scheme, something that is appealing to you, you will modify it once it is open in the online design tool.
All of our banners load as a 3 x 8, you can change to any size you like once it opens in the online design tool. I’m going to load this template because I like the color scheme. So you click on the image it loads in our design tool and then you can get to work. I’m going to change the size to a 3 x 6 banner. Now you will notice that while the canvas, that is to say the banner background has changed the individual elements on the page have not. We do this to keep the design elements in proportion. You can resize, delete, or do whatever you like to the individual design elements but it’s important to keep them in proportion. So to do that, to keep something in proportion drag a corner handle and hold down the shift key while resizing, that will keep it in proportion.
Now I’m going to add an image. Here is an image of me when I was a baby just a brief 56 years ago so let’s add that to the birthday Banner, then resize the image to what is appropriate, now let’s modify some text. I’m going to select this text, “happy birthday” and I’m going to change it, and enlarge it. Next I want to add an arrow pointing from the text to the image. That’s about it that is are finished design of a Birthday Banner.by Share this content
